Aside from learning to paint, the most important knowledge I gained from college was to discover many of the facets of life, areas of study and expertise , and a realization that I, even now, know so little about everything there is to know, so little of the complexities of life and different societies, and I’ve realized that I can’t successfully make assumptions about my fellow human beings, even though I still catch myself assigning people to categories, fitting them into the boxes in which I think they most likely belong. I’m usually wrong.
